Echinopsis subdenudata

Wow right? What an absolutely happy flower! I don't even remember where I got this from. And sister accross the seas only found out what it's called when it sprouted a bud. It's really a "forget about me" plant. The only thing to remember is to not leave it out during the monsoon. And it's amazing how it developed a waist. Must've been dumped by a boyfriend or something. It's definitely shapelier than half the women i know.

Sadly the show was only for one day. The following night it was pretty much a goner.

Succulents in the Tropics

So. Guess who got diamond-tipped drill bits for her birthday. Nothing is safe. Bowls, mugs and other knick knacks have been drilled. This is actually an ashtray. Well it was anyway.

That's a Sedum rubrotinctum, Crassula perforata and a Gasteria. The right one is a weed (growing with an adenium) that I stuck in there to fill the space.
